13 year old Victoria
Jonquil Turner, affectionately known by most as
“Tori Turner” is a native of New Orleans, LA.
Tori is an 8th grade student at Dutchtown Middle
School, where she is an honor student and member
of the Beta Club. She is the founder of
Tori Turner’s D.R.E.A.M. Foundation, an
actress with New Venture Theatre in Baton Rouge,
LA and is an active member of Sigma Omega
Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s –
Emerging Young Leaders. She is also a
youth advocate for the Louisiana and Texas Gulf
Coast Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation
through the Kids for Wish Kids Program.
Tori founded the Tori Turner’s D.R.E.A.M. BIG
Foundation at the tender age of 12 years old
with a mission of financially supporting the
dreams of youth around the state of Louisiana.
Her foundation was birthed through her dream of
becoming a professional actress, model and
entertainer.
Tori’s future plans are to attend Performing
Arts High School and go on to become an academy
award winning actress and a Grammy-winning
musician. She also plans to attend college,
majoring in the performing arts and business
administration.
Tori is very active; not only socially and
civically, but also in sports. She has competed
in competitive cheerleading and was on her
school’s volleyball team for three years. She
has also been formally trained in piano, voice,
acting, gymnastics, and dance. Tori intends to
record and release her first pop-rock singles
during her reign, along with developing her own
record label with an emphasis on young aspiring
talents like herself.
In her spare time, Tori loves to serve her
community through her foundation, her service
affiliations and volunteerism with programs such
as Home Mission, Inc. where she participates in
the “Feed the Hungry” mission and Mark Ingram’s
Foundation; geared toward assisting children of
incarcerated parents.
During her reign as Miss Black Louisiana USA
Talented Teen 2012, she will Call Teens to
Action through, community service and youth
entrepreneurship, inspiring them to be the
change that they want to see in their
communities. You are never too young to make a
difference!
Her message to others is to always D.R.E.A.M.
BIG and believe in God and yourself and you can
do whatever you set your mind to.
“The journey of one thousand miles begins with
one single step” and Tori has just taken one
more step toward her destiny! |
