Tiffany Monique Lloyd
2008 - 2009 Miss Black Louisiana USA
Tiffany Monique Lloyd, the multi-talented
singer, dancer, motivational speaker, and model
is a native of Ferriday, LA. Lloyd is a 2003
magna cum laude graduate of Alcorn State
University receiving her degree in psychology
and education. She served as cheerleader
captain, editor of the year book, female
vocalist for the Alcorn State University Gospel
Choir, which she recorded on their third album.
She also was one of the first female directors
of the Alcorn State University Gospel Choir. Ms.
Lloyd represented Alcorn as Miss Alcorn State
University 2002-2003 and Student of the Year.
She was a featured vocalist at the Congressional
Black Caucus in Washington D.C. in 2002. Tiffany
has been recognized by Waynesboro County, the
town of Ferriday, LA; Baker, La.; and St.
Gabriel, LA for outstanding leadership and
received the key to the cities. She was
recognized for outstanding leadership and
received a proclamation from the Louisiana House
of Representatives.
In 2005, Lloyd received her Masters from
Southern University A & M College in
Public Administration. In December 2006,
Lloyd was a finalist for the Miss Louisiana USA
Pageant to compete in the Miss USA Pageant.
Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Public
Policy from Southern University and has been
chosen Who’s Who Among American College
Students.
Tiffany was chosen
Miss Black Louisiana USA 2008 and represented the state of
Louisiana in the Miss Black USA pageant in June.
She ranked in the top four as America’s Choice
for the Miss Black USA Pageant, where she also
received a perfect score on her interview, and
best talent. Tiffany has made history in the
state of Louisiana by being selected as Miss
Black Louisiana USA 2009 from the national
office of the Miss Black USA System. She has
been appointed to the You Can Succeed Board of
Directors and awarded the Keeper of the Flame
and Lillian Award by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority
Inc., for outstanding female vocalist
performance. On May 3, 2008, The Town of
Ferriday, LA and Southern University A& M
College Board of Supervisors proclaimed that it
was Tiffany Lloyd’s Day for outstanding
leadership. Ms. Lloyd performed at the National
Conference of Black Mayors on June 7th, 2008 in
New Orleans and was Grand Marshall for the LA
Black Rodeo parade and performed the National
Anthem.
Tiffany is a member of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc. Her philosophy on life is, “There
are three kinds of people in the world
- those
who make things happen, those who watch things
happen and those who wondered what happened.
I
am the person that makes things happen because
what I am is God’s gift to me and what I become
is my gift to God.”
Recently,
Tiffany represented the state of
Louisiana in the 2009 Miss Black USA pageant,
held August 3rd Tiffany
placed 2nd runner-up in this prestigious
national pageant.
