As Miss Black Louisiana
USA 2012, I will strive
to improve the state of
higher education
in Louisiana. Although
this
issue does not
have textbook answer, I
have found several ways
I can make an impact:
The need of a strong
foundation of early
childhood development is
one way to improve
higher education
success.
As part of my platform,
I will strive to inform
citizens of the
importance of early
childhood development
and how it affects their
child and Louisiana’s
future,
and I will
continue to convey the
importance of improving
literacy levels in
Louisiana’s poorer
communities to ensure
our students are
prepared for higher
education, thus trying
to avoid the draining of
one of our state’s
greatest
accomplishments, the
TOPS program.
